Default IS350 engine in a IS250

Hi my fellow Is owners..
Just a short intro..
im a proud owner of a IS250 in sydney australia with some mods..

anyhow to cut it short..
i wanna drop in a Is350 engine in a Is250
Before everyone on the site tells me to sell my car and get a Is350.
IN AUSTRALIA there is no IS350 so that is not an option..

I have a 6 speed manual Is250 and i wanna drop in a IS350 (imported from the US or Japan)
Question is..
The Is350 if i am correct doesnt come in manual..
so would i be able to bolt up the 250 tranny on to the 350 engine and run the 350 engine ECU?
also..if i cant should i get a auto is250 and drop the 350 motor and the auto tranny?
any 1 have any thoughts??
the 250 is a nugget doesnt go that well i really wanna get rid of this motor..

I'm 99% sure the 350 motor with the 250 manual tranny will not work, at least not without some sort of piggyback to trick the 350 ECU. Again, not even sure if that's possible.

As for the 350 engine in a 250 auto. I guess that depends on if the 6 speed auto in the 250 is the same one that resides in the 350.

To be perfectly honest its probably not worth the hassle of trying to work with the 350 motor. You might also consider a 2JZ swap. Not really sure if that would be cheaper or more expensive than a 350 motor, but it is something else to consider.

gotcha, well in that case I can't see any gigantic glaring reasons why it wouldn't work. But the devil is always in the details.

Manual swap won't work, the ecu will have no idea what to do. The auto isn't the same between cars.

You maybe could swap the entire powertrain, except the 250 still doesn't have VDIM (unless it's an 09) so that'd be an ECU problem again- plus, it'd be a lot easier to just drive the 350. I can't imagine the cost of importing the -whole- car wouldn't be lower than importing the powertrain and trying to make a swap work properly.

I would think that swapping the motor, tranny and harness to make this work would be whats necessary. At most the harness's from the inside as well.

... not worth it ... go get a 335i or an Audi... or something faster. Save you money and the headaches from an engine swap that has no guarantees to work and may permanently eff up your car.

That's almost impossible to PERMANENTLY mess up the car from a simple swap. A swap like this will most likely be costly unless you do it yourself and should be bolt on for the matter, its just going to require to replace everything, probably the suspension too.
