Default Any Interest in a K&N Intake for 01-05 GS300?

I recently emailed K&N about a possible intake for the 01-05 GS300. They have one for the IS300. It should be very similar because the GS300 and the IS300 share the same MAF. I am sure they could develop one for the 98-00 years as well since the only difference is the MAF.

Dear K&N Customer,

Thank you for your interest in K&N products. Currently, K&N does not make a performance intake system for Lexus GS300. The reason we may not have developed one for that car is we most likely were not able to get a vehicle in here for fitment. The best thing to do is submit a product request, If we get enough interest we might consider making one. Please visit our Product Request page at http://www.knfilters.com/products_needed/default.aspx and complete the form. You will be notified via e-mail when product is released. The system will also automatically send you an e-mail with all current products available and future e-mails will be sent when new product is released.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Support department at 1(800)858-3333.

Thanks for writing,

If you are interested, please submit a request through the link above (it takes like 1 minute) and vote in the poll. If we generate enough interest, I think they would make one. I emailed Ryan back with the link to this poll.

GS300 owners would appreciate support from GS400 and GS430 owners as well

***Mods would you mind keeping this in the main forum instead of the performance.***

Will it be CARB legals? Otherwise, I don't see a reason for a K&N intake other than if it will be significantly less than all the other similar intakes currently available.

would there be a significant difference between the drop-in and an intake? i can see how it may benefit those gearing for power...i'd be interested to see the cost.

Most likely. We are trying to get K&N to do some R&D first.

There probably will be better performance. I would guess the drop in gets maybe 1-2hp more. The cost is up in the air. I would just like to see K&N make a product. I personally like their products more than other brands out there.

i too enjoy k&n over others considering the length of time they've been in the industry.
someone should be k&n's guinea pig for this!

Just a FYI, their IS300 products gained about 10hp over stock. Don't forget to click on the link and request that a product be made.

I know that some companies list the air intakes for the IS300 and GS300 as being identical, so I wonder how much modification one for the GS would require, if any.

Thanks for starting the thread pingu.
