Sneak peak: Y-Pipe anyone :) ... Little something from the shop
As promised from posts of pass I finally made the Y-pipe i wanted and will be following suit dyno testing tomorrow.
It is made from 2.5" OD mandrel bent stainless, has a merge collector, braided flex sections, 100% tig welded, and an extra bung for O2 wideband logging ... Enjoy
New vs. Old (sorry old sap ain't she, all patched together)
Notice the extra bung for O2 wideband logging in the merge

Why are you installing your wideband O2 after the Cats and so far back on the exhaust system? That's not going to give you the most accurate readings. You do know the purpose of cats, right? Might as well run a shortband of your stock O2's.

Sined,
Looks like good quality work to me
That said what is the application?
On a fairly stock vehicle I will expect a loss of drivability, loss of low speed responsiveness and power.
This pipe could be a good choice for supercharged or turbocharged applications.
Your "stock" pipe is obviously no longer stock. It looks like you replaced the stock center resonator with a 3" pipe. It also looks like you had maybe ran additional oxygen sensors.
What was your results after the stock pipe mods?
Looks like your new pipe has a 3" exit. What is the rest of your system?
Please give us your driving impressions.

I haven't seen ANY reports of anyone running these pipes not even the OP.
While the workmanship looks nice the tubing sizes are WAY too large for our engines and will result in a loss of low to mid RPM power/torque/response and will probably not create any additional power at peak.
If you want the correct Y pipe please review the parts that bcsc400 and spdrcr771 built.
There is a possiblity that someone will be building similar Y pipes and making them available...
