Is it possible to source a 98+ JDM ARISTO 2jz-gte ?
Im wondering because i been trying to Swap/NA-T my car and the main thing holding me up is emmisions in cali. I contacted a local tuner/Mechanic wont say any names here, Lol. He told me to proceed as i like and that he would help me with install and passing emissions.
But i was doing more research and found out that to be legal a motor swap must be a newer or same year motor, alot of ppl lead me to believe it also had to be USDM but i found out other wise. So as long as you have all emissions gear in place the car origanlly had and it can pass without high NOX levels the ref will issue a tag.

of course it's possible. call around shops and ebay. aristo vvti gte's should cost you around 2-3k for a clip. Around $6k for the swap to be complete. As long as you are bpu, smog stations won't really tell the difference between a gte and a ge.
let me know if you still can't find a clip.
