exile you coulda stayed nissan and just built a nissan drift machine but that has been done and there are so many they are like a dime a dozen. doing a built 2jz motor in a gs300 is so much more credible. your car would be maybe one in 3 well built drift GS/Aristo's that ive seen. and the other two were done by shops.. now we just gotta hope that your driving can back up the blood, sweat, and tears put into the build. because *knocks on wood* the last thing we would want to see is the build completed and then it being damaged or something.

well I was talking to the main US tuner for the v-pro today and he told me for my power goals 500-600whp vvti is a waste of time. I'm plan on running the v-pro as a full standalone instead of a piggy back which would mean i would have add the HKS valcon in order to control the VVTI(instead of the stock ecu). which would have been ~$1500 or so full everything needed for the valcon.

So he told me to pick up and regular GTE head with upgraded valve springs to handle the higher rpm's and sell the VVTi head. So thats the direction I'm taking now. I wanted to keep the VVTI but at this point all i want is to get the thing finished at the power I want.

I also found out the V-pro needs a speed sensor signal in order for proper "load" tuning. Catch is that the signal from all the speed sensors comes out "s" wave then goes into the speedo and ODO and comes out "Square" wave to the ECU. All ECUs can only read speed in this Square wave. I plan on going with a Aim Sports dash unit which doesn't have a digital out. I found a converter over at Dakota Digital that can convert the "s" wave signal into "Square" wave by tapping into the speed wire that goes to the Aim Sports dash unit so the HKS V-Pro can get its speed signal. If Dakota Digital didn't have that converter I would have to have to rip a oem cluster apart just to get that little converter part.

car got back today. Forrest **** did an outstanding job on my car. I couldn't ask for anything more. Top notch... He'll be getting some major work once this car hit the scene and people know who did the cage.

he ended up selling his trailer to a friend in vegas so he planned it to where he could bring my car back up at the same time.

first shot. notice the JDM Nissan S13 steering column. also the gussets on the front bars and the side bars.

He boxed up in line with the frame rails

pics of the rear box. He really did great work making the rear bar run inline with the front door bar. plus you at a glimpse at the massive rear gussets

He stretched the rear hoop out 6-8 inches into the rear door area which made this look real clean and kept fitment for a racing seat a breeze. plus the massive rear gusset in just baller.

rear strut tower bar. he cut out some of the rear deck which was ok with me. I might try and cut the rest of it off but I might have a problem with the trunk hinges b/c thats where they bolt to but we'll see.

passenger side shot of the cage.

What can I say Forrest just did a pimp *** job now I have to put together a car that does this cage justice.

i doubt it. considering that the steering column is just turning the wheel, the rack determines ratio. I believe the reason for the s13 column is that it is probably 3x as light as the tilt/power telescoping GS one.

pimp idea Exile. super simple.

???? well after a little lightening before i took everything out it weighted 3540... the scales that i took it to are on the other side of vegas so it kinda hard to get the car over there without its own power. i could trailer it but it just be a waste of time. i'll do an over all weight of the car when its finished.

update coming soon i fixed my fender problem last night...
