and dont take this rude...but that question didnt really have to do with my build...and in that case why not make everyone have 1 thread, and any new question they have to post in their personal thread...seriously...let the mods do their jobs...

no your right it didnt. n my intention isnt/wasnt to fight with you. u have made 79 new topics since aug of 2008 thats 79 in 6 months and if you look over them ALMOST 90 could be made into one post/topic or merged into ONE thread...im at 24 posts made and i have been here since june of 2008 only 2 months before you and 55 topics LESS, some members i have seen from 2004 who r VERY active on the boards have under 50 in last 4 years!heck that new one you made today could just be included on a previous one. call it fords gs300 build and bam put ALL your ?'s into one...we do have enough clutter as it is. again not trying to fight or argue with you buddy just a suggestion and MAYBE then you'll get some answers or responses. wish you the best. sorry like normal u disagree with me....just trying to offer some constructive criticism

well i have another question..and to avoid further criticism, i will post it in here, even tho its not really related lol I just purchased a EGT gauge, and i was wondering if its ok to install the probe right after the turbo in the down pipe (as opposed to the manifold) also what do the temps really mean? (as far as too hot etc...) also i have a trans temp gauge...but i have no clue what my temp is supposed to be...or what is 2 hot..any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I agree with sakataj lol. I have the turbo Q&A thread going on as well.

Anyways, answer to your question.
1. Cam gear: depends on what kind of cams you have and how agressive. Changing the timing will alter the power band and where the engine makes max power. Do you want it down low and less up top, or the other way around. Best way to find out is to strap the car on a dyno to tune it and adjust it till you like it.

2. EGT: Yes, most people install it after the turbo since it's more convienient. You can weld a bung in the manifold to put the EGT in there as well. Some people put it in the manifold in the collector area because that's the hottest possible temp that all 6 cylinders will merge at. Putting it after the turbo will allow the gasses to cool down a tad, but still by a very small amount. So either place is fine. As for what temp: Cold start till warm up the temps will be around 350-500F depending on your tune and what type of fuel used(alcohol, gasoline, etc). Highway cruising the temps will be around 700-1000F depending on engine load. Full throttle it will be around 1200-1400F range. Once you start exceeding 1400F+ then it gets to the danger zone where stuff will start to fail.

btw jeff...since every1 knows your name and im sure you dont know half of us....mine is brian
