the short shifter doesn't do anything cause the throws aren't the problem with the long shifts. it's the ridiculously heavy clutch and flywheel(someone weighed it to be around 58lbs.) that's the problem. the fsport clutch might be better, but with a heavy flywheel, revs are still going to hang after you disengage the clutch.
but anyway, i'd also like to hear some reviews on the fsport clutch. they should really make a lightweight flywheel along with it though...

For 300$ throws wil be 30-35% shorter and that will make things alot easyer compared to what it already is i would kno i got a manual 250 i lov it and ive talked to a few people and they say thats how it should of come stock so its great..and as far as what GSE20MT guy was sayn above me is true in someways but you cant complain its not a 350z or some sports car so dealing with the clutch and flywheel isnt a problem for me?

yea, i was gonna say that i don't think they meant it to be even remotely sporty in the first place, hence the crappy lag between shifts. i think since it IS a luxury car, a lighter flywheel might make it harder for the common person to shift smoothly. lightweight flywheels require a quick left foot.
but as far as the short shifter goes, no matter what, you're gonna get to the next gear before the revs drop down anyway, so i really don't see a point in the short shifter. i mean, what difference does it make getting into gear earlier, when the rpm doesn't drop down as quick as you can get into gear right? you'd just be ruining the clutch if you keep popping it before the rpm matches accordingly to the gear you're getting into and the speed you're moving at. it's kinda like guys that gas and brake in traffic. you're gonna stop immediately anyway, just roll along and save the energy.

hmm i see your point GSE20MT. i drove my brother 350z and i definitely noticed a quicker rpm drop between gears. I WANT FOR MY CAR NAO!
I'm sure there are lightweight flywheels out there that would work great with our trannies, but they're just not labeled under this tranny because the typical IS driver doesnt care about this sort of thing. i'm definitely going to try and get on top of the F-Sport clutch + short shifter by the end of the summer. the real PITA is going to be the install...(i'm doing it myself in my garage)

The dealer just replaced my clutch. I bought the car used with 25k and it the clutch was horrible. took it Back and they replaced the whole clutch assembly (stock, not f). Any lexus guys know what the whole assembly consists of? Pressure plate too?

I ordered the f-sport clutch along with the short throw shifter. hopefully it should be delivered next week and installed the following week. after it's in, i'll post my thought on the clutch and short shifter. (i wish it was here already!)
