interesting project.

For those interested Dr.Gas sells mild steel oval straight, mandrel and transitions.

Here is their page

https://www.drgas.net/catalog.php?catid=3

Here is their chart to size oval compared to round in terms of flow capacity

For those desiring stainless there is of course Burns but the price is way high

jbrady, have you ever built an exhaust sysem using the oval piping? I had a problem with mine after i finished it. It has a tendancy to want to un-oval itself. After a few days of driving the pipe would be a rounded diamond shape. Basically the middle bowed out and was no longer flat and oval. I had to use my friends hydraulic press to form the pipe back to oval and weld in braces through the exhaust every 6 inches or so to preven the bowing out. Just wondering if you had any experience with that happening.

No first hand advice to offer. The mandrel bends may in fact be more stable. Try calling Dr. Gas or Burns for additional advice.

We built an exhaust using burns oval a while back when I was still running Matchless Performance... didn't have any problems like you are describing.

but if you making that much power how come your car is traping that low? i've seen some post of yours at over 600rwhp you should be well over 130mph trap speed, if you are my apologies if not something dosent make sence.

Most the old vids I've posted on youtube were on my old 61mm turbo. Right now my current best trap on this turbo is 121mph because I can't spool it off the line. I don't hit full boost until about 3-4 seconds into the run. If you watch my most recent video below, I'm not going anywhere until about halfway down the track. I get a 2.5second 60ft time because I can't spool the damn turbo lol! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdPo4YgjHKU

I just got a new torque converter and will possibly use nitrous to spool as well. I'm aiming to run 11.5@130mph+ on street tires whenever I have a chance to hit the quarter mile track. Then maybe dip into the 10s when I put on a set of slicks. I have big plans this summer
