It's surprisingly true. The combo is louder overall in a good way and the annoying drone is significantly reduced.

great! thanks for the info. looks like this might be my next purchase. it's hard though cause i'm still interested in the greddy s.e. with the megan too! damn, this is a hard decision.

haha EGI i feel ya, i've been debating the tanabe vs greddy se.

you all are talking about the tanabe + megan midpipe, correct? wasn't sure if megan had an intake that you all were talking about

quick note, how much $ is the midpipe?

i think people are selling it because either they want the new greddy se or cuz they need money. i was actually thinkin of gettin the greddy too but the only way for me to get rid of my tanabe is if Joe Z made his exhaust compatible with the AWD system. so im stuck with the tanabe.

search youtube. there is a video of an isx50 with just the midpipe and stock exhaust. it actually didn't sound too bad. just not loud enough for me.

I've been trying to swap it out with Lexus HKS. sometime tanabe sounds too loud esp up hill but generally it's quiet. it's definitely a good exhaust for 2IS and looks great, just not perfect sound.

best combo. Just to tell you how loud it is, i got pulled over for it. Cop heard me from about 2 blocks away. Hahah

but from some people, they change it just for looks, not for sound. I still like my tanabes. Sounds good, looks good too. Its not like the hks where its a fatty exhaust but big enough to know there's an exhaust but small enough not to stand out. Just what i think.
that is awesome

to be honest tanabe is loud for me... I can't stand that sound espcially when summer comes and it's illegal and I can't run in the street in my place with that much of a noisy exhaust...

My car is already impounded for a month and I'm getting it this Thursday back, thanks to the loud exhaust tanabe..

Tanabe is too loud??
then you should just stick with your stock exhaust
because I believe Tanabe is the QUIETEST aftermarket exhaust

and I second the Tanabe + Megan Midpipe combo
it makes it louder and deeper overall, and reduces the droning

Quick Reply: why is everyone selling their tanabe MT exhaust?
