Default injen intake

does anyone know if the injen intake is a good one compared to some others? Will I have problems with my check engine light coming on?

Get the SRT intake or the Area 51 intake.

Those 2 intakes you spoke of uses a piggy back ecu that helps regulate air/fuel mixture, by doing that you maxime your hp gains to the low 20 hp range and not trigger the Check engine light. Thats why they are so expensive. When you buy the Injen 2nd generation cold air intake you will need to buy an after market A/F controller do essentially do the same thing, You will have to get your car dyno'd which will cost you around 150 an hour, and the A/F controller will cost you about $290-$300. A good one is apexi s-afc fuel controller but a new one is coming out late april you might want to wait for.

Injen intake 250
Apexi S-AFC air fuel controller 300
Dyno time to adjust 150

Total comes to about 700 bucks. Honestly I would go with the SRT intake. Looks good, alot less hassle, but thats me.

I have the INJEN and it sounds, looks and works great.
While a s-afc will definitley get you more power out of it, you can do it later....or never.
This course of action will also allow you more flexibility in future modifications.
an intake with a piggyback is not ideal for future mods like a header for example. An afc will allow future tweaking. The piggy back is set and that's it.
So if you know all you want is an intake that will get the most hp gains and are not planning on more stuff...go with the AREA 51, or SRT.....
Disconnect the battery while doing this either way...to reset the ECU. This will keep the CE light from comming on.
Worked for My INJEN.
