Default Transmission question

I have a spare trans from my mkiv supra tt does any one know if this will work on the gs or Any mods to make it work. I'm sure the gearing is different but Don't know if there are any other differences.

How many gears does your Supra have and how many does your Gs have?

I don't think the supra TT transmission will bolt up to the GS motor unless it's an aristo motor. Oh, I forgot to tell you that I found a place that is going to custom make Kevlar lined bands and steels for me. Also, I was able to get some custom sprags made to fit onto the A341E transmission. The sprags will be case hardened, heat treated, and Cryo treated. I'm waiting for everything to come in and then rebuild the transmission and let you know the results.

That's why I told him to go count the geears in each trans so he could answer his own question

Sounds good, hopefully it will hold up for you.

That trans will physically bolt up to the GS. All 2JZ blocks share the same exact bolt pattern on the transmission mating surface. No matter if its turbo or not, vvti or not...all the 2JZ have the same pattern. So basically any trans that was ever bolted to a 2JZ will also bolt to any other 2JZ out there. As for getting it to work, that's a whole different subject. At that point you need to have some kind of transmission controller and electronics. Unless it's a manual trans you're trying to bolt up then it's much simpler in that case.

Yeah, but it's like compared to the cost of the swap, the adapter is chump change in my book. It's everything that you need that's going to nickel and dime you, and once you see the price of a V16x tranny you might think twice. Anyways, search, search and search some more. It's been done a few times, and the more it is done, the cheap it will become.

About the MKIV Supra Tranny, JeffTsai mentioned it, it will bolt up but as far as the electronics will be different as the the A34xe is a electronic 4 speed, and the A650e is a electronic 5 speed. The only difference being the computers that control them, and the electrical connectors.
