I almost got hit today... Know why???
I was turning left on an intersection. As I waited to turn I made a good judgment to make a move before the suv comes cause it was far nuff for me to go. When I hit the gas the my car had a lag(not responding to the acceleration) then it kicked in. During that time the suv was almost to my psnger door. I have noticed that this lag happens a lot on low idle and now i have a cel on. Does anyone know what is going on? Any input would be appreciated. Just so you all know the only recent changes i have made to my car is just a k&N drop in filter. Please advise and thanks

OP- check code and go from there. if you over oiled the air filter you probably dirtied up the MAF sensor. clean it and you should be good to go assuming thats the prob but again start with checking the CEL light

I had K&N in my old DSM as well, had the filter for 3 years without a single problem, the GS though, CEL popped a few days after install. Do a search about K&N giving CELs in 2GS, you might find something.
Probably due to 01+ have different MAF sensor, the 01+ MAF in Carson's MRSP listing is 159-179 while the 98-00 is 209, so you might not have problem running a K&N filter with your 01+, just a guess.
Cases have shown that even new K&N filters will oil the MAF and won't work in 2GSs... probably because 98-00 have the K&N FIPK so there's a lot more people changing to K&N then have problems in 98-00....
Same story with mine, 98 GS4, I HAVEN'T oiled the filter, but CEL first popped up about 4 days after the install of K&N FIPK, it's fine after cleaning the MAF with the CNC, until a few days later it pop back up again, so I changed to a dry filter, it's been about 5 months after changing to dry filter, no lights.

You are trying to say I don't know English and don't follow instructions?
