Default Question for you guys running Tanabe Medallion exhaust and Joe-Z intake pipe...

What kinds of gains/losses are you guys seeing in HP, torque and MPG? I thought I remember reading somewhere that doing intake/exhaust mods actually have a negative effect due to the computer.

The computer has no idea what kind of axle-back exhaust is on your car, as it's installed well past the last of any sensors.

I'm unclear how replacing a sealed intake tube that itself has no electronics on it with another, smoother, sealed intake tube with no electronics would cause the computer any issue either.

The tanabe (or any other axle back) should gain about 7 hp on an IS350 (probably a touch less on a 250).

the Joe Z (or any similar intake like the F-sport) should gain about 5 hp.

I guess what I was concerned with was how the computer deals with the increased volume of air flow through the system, i.e. fuel/air mix ratio.

The same way every car in the last couple decades has done so- the closed loop MAF/O2 feedback system

Seriously? Just get these bolt-on's...they will not hurt performance at all. You will not suffer from heat-soak as you would with a SRI in some cars...and you will not be throwing off anything else. You are simply helping the car breathe better.
