I called Kenny yesterday...according to him there are plenty of 350s lined up for R&D already. I asked him what they're using for fuel management, he said either reflash (which I highly doubt it) or running AEM FIC.

from the emails i've been sending and receiving from turbochargers.com is that the kit would cost about $9,999.99 which would include the parts, tuning, and fuel system

it would be a turbo system, fuel system install and kit would be $9995.00.

if you wanted to do a forged engine we could do that as well. cost would be about $7500 in addition to the turbo kit. The turbo kit will be fine on the stock internals you should see an increase of roughly 125-150whp.

thanks

Thanks for the info, although it sounds like a generic sales department answer. Given what we know about adding boost to the IS350, 150whp seems unrealistic. Also, the price is much higher than the target price expected by Fox Marketing.

I guess we'll just wait and see...

Yeah, I really don't see them adding 125-150 on stock engine internals on pump gasoline...

and at $10,000 you're pushing an IS350 awfully close to the cost of an IS-F that carried a full warranty.

dunno, im going to stop by and see what they have in the works. im in houston, but a little hesitant because i know the is-f turbo cost 15k and i just can imagine that ours would be around 8k depending on the gain, which would mean about 4k for the boost with their partial discount. i cant wait to see the results though because i fthey can add 100 hp to my 350 id be one happy booster!

hey...I'm sure it can be push for one dyno run and that's probably what most shop do anyways, praying that the motor doesn't blow on that run. How reliable is it as a DD, that's for the customer to find out.

Although, I personally wouldn't spend 10K on this kit, but props to turbochargers.com to even attempt to develop a production kit for the IS350.

So it's supposed to make 2 to 3 times more than the current and past S/C kits?
Sounds too good to be true, especially since it is priced at about the same range...

I wonder how it'll fair - in terms of reliability.
I also wonder how much the upgraded internals will help.

I have looked at the AEM FIC a lot to see what it could do for the ISx50. Because of the direct injection, it can't drive these injectors directly. The secondary port injectors perhaps but you need the cooling effect of DI to prevent detonation.

It can tweak the MAF, Crank Sensor, etc... to modify fuel and timing. Also it can trim the A/F sensors in closed loop operation to prevent the car from detuning itself.

The problem is that this type of 'passive' setup does not work well at all with force induction cars. I have been told that these systems don't have the capability to dump enough fuel when needed.

It is possible I guess but I don't know how successful the end result will be.
