Ok guys, I just spoke with Kenny Strickler at Turbochargers.com, and he needs an IS350 to develop a turbo kit. This is the same group that is going to be doing the turbo IS-C.
Kenny is located in Houston, TX, and will need the car for approximately three weeks. He is offering a 50% discount off the price of the kit to whomever can provide the IS350.
I can't give up my car for three weeks, but hopefully someone on this forum can. Please contact Kenny at kenny@turbochargers.com or 713-681-1111, and let's make this happen!

Perhaps boost isn't right for you, then. But for those of us who have been awaiting FI options, its nice to see a company step up and give it a shot.
These are the same guys who did the Twin-Turbo ISF, so I have no reason to question their professionalism.

I'm going there in two weeks for the dyno day they're having. I just don't know if I feel like having my car taken apart as tester. I mean having to risk a $15000 motor to save $2000-$3000 is not really worth it IMO.

It's actually pretty normal. 50% is probably just enough to cover the parts involved. Very, very few people are willing to do this for free these days. Especially for a low volume car like the IS.
Example, they do this for someone for free totally and they're out $10K in parts and labor and time. Then everyone who said they'd buy a kit backs out (which is what happens 90% of the time, especially on a car like this). Then they end up selling like 2 kits. How does that sound like a good business proposition?
A long time ago, I custom built a turbo kit for my Nissan Maxima. I thought about turning it into a kit as we could have easily fabbed a jig for all the piping and manifolds. But no one would commit to anything. Everyone wanted it until it came time to actually put down a deposit. If no one is willing to commit, how can you expect a shop to commit? If 50% off and 3 weeks down time is too much, there's not enough commitment here for a shop to do this. If a kit is ever produced, there's a good chance it might take 2 weeks to install if parts don't fit or fittings are missing. That's normal when installing a turbo kit. So if people are scared of 3 weeks, then a turbo setup isn't a good solution. For someone who really wants a turbo, this is a great deal.
