Walbro 255LPH fuel pump swap question
I ran to another problem with my fuel system. When I removed the old pump I broke the plastic cap that go over the pump exit nipple. This is the nipple/port that goes to the feed line.
It has the cap, then the O ring, then another thick plastic ring on the bottom. I tried to order the top cap, but the dealer only sells it with the fuel pump. They also sell the O ring with the pump as well.
Here are my questions:
1. How important is that cap? Can I still install it even though its broken or better yet remove it?
2. Do I really need to change all the O ring seals? How often do they go bad anyways?
I want to change all the seals, but I would have to buy an OEM fuel pump.

I dont know how to post the picture from the manual. However, in the manual its call a "No.1 fuel filter cushion". So basically its the No.1 cushion, o ring, then another plastic.
Wow I didnt know that whole black piece was a fuel filter. Does this need to be replace as well?

I hope the links above works.

The cushion and the fuel pump o-ring are essential, without these, the fuel pump outlet will not be sealed to the assembly and will leak around it. Thus no or very little fuel pressure.
If the o-rings look good, you likely don't need to change them. I have a stock setup that I can take pics of it.
