Default I see why...but

I can see why v300 would be upset if he didnt know that the car would have to be moddified but... I would expect some minor triming of members and such for piping to fit. I plan to hack to firewall on my gs3 and move it back 2.5" for the factory seq's to fit in there.

And yea I know its a lexus but if your modding it anyway and do it right there should be no reason to sketch out.

I can swap in a 97 GS300 engine with no VVTi, yeah then I can pay about 5000 for a turbo for that. But including the 4000~5000 for swapping the engine, it'll come out to be the same amount, and without VVTi. Don't really wanna go backwards, and engine swapping an older engine is illegal. If I can do that I'll just swap in a Supra TT engine. Even easier

Well if you are interested....I have a Japanese front clip of the 1st Gen Aristo. full motor, TT auto tranny, wiring harness, ecu. Available NOW!

just email me if you are interested.

I need to decide on whether or not I will TT a GS3 or stay legal and slower with a GS4. I'm moving to San Diego, so maybe the legal route would be more practical....

any opinions???

Why is there not a lot of turbo kits available for the 98' GS's, but those damned hondas have so much selection? Those OBII sensors and toyota ecu's must be a pain to bypass and decipher I guess.

To the best of my knowledge, Globe, you can do your little turbo setup with a manifold and whatever else you have. But don't expect to boost more than 4psi safely without the right stuff like: reprogrammed ecu, intake, downpipe, oil coolers, transmission coolers, steel braided oil lines, thicker metal headgasket (I think this will help lower your compression), probably some bigger injectors, colder spark plugs (+6 and higher), and a nice fat intercooler to give your car some teeth in the front.

If you don't have an A/F controller, get that, along with a boost controller (both really important) and you should have a safe setup there. I'm not an expert, but that kind of sums up all the data I've compiled when I used to plan on turboing my N/A 90' Nissan 300zx, but dropped those plans after it got totalled. Now, with the GS300, it's a whole new ball game.

I hope this helps, and remember it's just a general layout.

what factory seq?

X-TN and Zenki: I've already scrapped this turbo plan and will be getting another faster (funner also) car... something that's legally turboed

Default turbo manifold for sc300

You need to help me buddy.. I'm trying desperately to find a turbo manifold that fits my sc300.. It's so hard.. The bad part is the 2jzgte twin turbo engine manifold have different bolt patterns than the manifold on the 2jzge non-turbo.. Isn't that rediculous.. Why did they have to make that different. Hey.. maybe you could tell me how you got yours.. I'll pay for the manifold if you could get me one.. please help.. would you be selling your manifold..

Ray,

I think he's talking about the factory sequential turbo setup (meaning all the hardware that comes with the turbos). EG8 has a point about modifying the firewall to allow the factory turbos to fit on the older GS.

Why don't you contact Mark Tozer at Suprastore.com? He has several kits available for naturally aspirated 2JZ owners that want to convert to a single. I've seen a GS3 with a Greddy T-88 on it. I was amazed to say the least. Don't get a haltech, get an Electromotive Tec III. It's a much better unit that the Haltech.
Also, have you considered swapping out your engine for a 2JZGTE? Just a thought. I think it would be much easier than converting a n/a 2JZ. Last of all, it's very simple to install a single turbo. You can do it yourself in a day. I know, myself and a friend installed my T-76 in a matter of 5-6 hours.

TBKO(http://www.tbko.com/) has a shippable turbo setup for the 2JZ-GE(IS300). It(stage I) costs $6500 and gives you 320RWHP(approx. 400hp at the flywheel). This kit would be good for someone with a 98+ 2JZ-GE(not local to Toyo) because Toyomoto does not ship out Turbo kits for 98+ OBII VVT-I 2JZ-GE. Just make sure that their Turbo application will work on the GS300 as well.

...tbko i don't know. Boost spikes scare me. 6500 for only 320hp (crank) is not that cost efficient.

v300, the $6500 is for 320RWHP, not crank hp. It has about 400hp at the flywheel. I am always open to hearing about more cost effective ways of doing things(turboing the 2JZ-GE VVT-I) if you know any.

-----I must be a moron. It was NOT an afternoon's worth of work for me. The NA-T I did took around 40-50 hours (Would take a competent shop 25+ hours.)
