You can put a Gte head on a non-Gte motor but in reality the combo you would want is a Gte block and Ge head if you were going for a "hybrid". Look into it but you will find that 99% of people who go NA-T eventually say they wish they had done a swap from the beginning. With the swap you wont have to worry about driveability issues, tuning (for the most part), strength of your NA block etc.... Personally I think it's best to spend the money up front and just do the swap.

The motor part of a build is probably the most expensive part of a build. Going NA-T should be your best bet, try piecing out your kit to save you money and look for deals for the parts you'll need.
When you do look into doing the gte swap, you should also look into doing some maintainance work (timing belt, water pump, seals and gaskets) as you are technically buying a used motor from a junkyard.

Okay, lets say my engine hasnt had proper maintenance, and I chose NA-T, chances are my engine isnt going to hold up along the way?

make sure you do some research and ask around for feedback about the shop you're taking your car to.
Having proper maintenance done would ensure that you don't have timing belt failure, leaks, etc.

The only regret that I have is I didn't put a 6speed in my car.
The tranny can barely take 600whp before it craps out on you.

I might be interested in a gs300 to, specifically a low mileage 2004 gs300. I'm coming from a gs430 so I'm new to it too.

please just stay away from ebay turbo kits, you'll end up spending more in the long run trying to fix it or making it run properly. Your motor is not something you can cheap out on.
