Default Exhaust Drone - How many RPMs with F-Sport

I may buy the F-Sport Exhaust this week. I've seen the videos and read the CL reviews. I still have a few questions:

1) There are some complaints about drone. When does this happen (1,000, 1,500, 2,000 RPMs etc)?

2) There are lots of traffic cops in every direction around here. I'm sure this exhaust turns heads. Do the cops look in the direction of all you HKS and F-Sport owners? How far away can you here the exhaust (1, 2 blocks)? Has it increased your ticket volume?

For driving style, assume the car frequently approaches the redline.

Thanks

The drone is apparent when driving above 80 mph. In terms of rpms? I guess you can say you hear it starting at 2500 to 3000 rpms, especially try in third gear and above. I havent had any cops pull me over for it. You're redlining the car all the time? Dang, that can't be good for the engine.

in the high RPMs you can't hear the exhaust. Thats then the intake takes over ... you can hear the exhaust from 2000 to 3000 RPMs.

Also note, lexus isn't going to sell anything that is not street legal ...if cops ask you anything, its a dealer installed option anyways ...

Thanks. I don't redline it. I just get close sometimes. Although a friend of mine did redline it for several seconds before it even had 200 miles on it. He put it in S mode and didn't shift properly. Oh well. It was my fault for letting him drive it that soon and for not prohibiting him from using S mode.

I'm not really concerned about the legality of the exhaust. I'm really just imaging every traffic cop on the beat pulling out their radar detectors as soon as they here my exhaust coming up the road. I'm not into "speeding," but I admit that I may stray over the posted limit from time to time.

This exhaust doesn't drone at ANY speeds. If it does it's because you're going too fast. It isn't loud either no matter how hard you punch it. It's just got a nice low buzz to it. You'll LOVE it.

i live in ca huntington beach, and cops are cracking down on people for every little thing its rediculous. I just stay easy on the gas when i accelerate, otherwise if u let off the gas petal no more exhaust noise . i run HKS hi power(assuming you mean HKS hi power and not lexus HKS), havn't been bothered yet.

I have not heard an aftermarket exhaust yet (On an IS) that would attract the attention of the PoPo.

I don't think F-sport exhaust drones. I have Lexus HKS, not as loud as F-sport and no drones at all. Cops cannot pull you over because it's not aftermarket. Dealer parts are legal.

This is true with the Lexus HKS however in my opinion the f-sport does drone a bit above 80+ mph.

If its bare-able then its not drone lol. I would compare droning to someone cutting their grass outside at 6 in the morning when you are sleepy as ****.

They mean annoying exhaust noise in the cabin at cruising speeds (droning). Some of mentioned this happens at 80mph which is a very common cruising speed in California.

It's either bearable or unbearable but if it's just a low humm then I can make due. Hope it's nothing like my 93 Accord with dual fart cans lol, it's annoying like a fly buzzin around your food.
