Ok so im looking for exhaust on my GS400 and im a little stumped. Right now im just looking to change the mufflers, i was either thinking borla and how many resonators to remove, none, 2, or all 3? Also if i just remove the resonators and leave the stock mufflers will that make any difference? Or sound ok? Let me know your guys opinions.

you only have 2 resonators.. + primary cats + secondary cats.
removing 2 resonators will make it louder but not to crazy since the OEM mufflers muffles quiet well.
removing the cats will make it make your car fail smog.. but then again you live in TX so it doesnt really matter lol..
i suggest.. remove the resonator and add different mufflers.

How loud do you want it to be? I've got Magnaflow mufflers on my 400 with stock piping and it's fairly subtle, no resonance and relatively quiet, more of a purr than a growl but noticeable when you get on it. If you go this route, you can always remove the resonators later to be louder. I've considered it but I'm happy with the way my car sounds for now.

As you noted there are 3 resonators, 2 cats and 2 mufflers. I am calling them resonators since they are straight through internally but the first one is (right after the Y) is packed with absorbsion material so technically it is a muffler just like Borla or Magnaflow or other straight through mufflers.
Modifying the stock exhaust is really all about sound as there is not really any noticable power to be gained in changes. Headers with the stock exhaust work very well and make noticeable power gains with almost no noticeable sound changes. So, as asked by Kyle... how loud do you want it? What are your actual goals? Sound, power, both?

Dont want it annoyingly loud, maybe somewhere along kyles setup. basically just going for sound really and later ill try to squeeze some power out of it with headers, do any of you have a rough estimate of how much? maybe with borlas? flowmasters? and magnaflows? or all three pretty much around the same? thanks again fellas. ![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
