Default 1 Week old F-sport exhaust worth?

Well I spoke with one of the mechanics at the lexus dealership and they had a customer take off there f-sport exhaust after only 1 week because it was too loud for his taste. Also one of the tips is slightly misaligned. Maybe 1/2" off?

The tech was supposed to return it to the parts department but they don't keep track of things there are asked if I wanted to buy it. What offer should I make? What would be a good price? Retail is like $1200.

For a used, ill-fitting, exhaust they're selling illegally?

$3-400 bucks maybe? It's going straight in the mechanics pocket, and the sooner he's rid of it the better I bet.

That's all I paid for my Tanabe, which while used, was a legal sale and in perfect shape for the same gains (albeit quieter ones)

u can get the exhaust new for $900 NEW. Since its used and it does not line up properly, would be worth less than half that. I agree with 300-400$ max!

Well I talked to him yesterday and was about to offer him $300. But I figured I'd see how much he was looking for. He said "dose $150 sound fair?" Ha ha... Hell yeah! "Ok come pass by the shop and I'll trow it on." And I got my car washed too (well I used there wash bay). The right tip points down just a little bit more that the left but it was literally used for only a week. And you can't tell unless your at eye level.

The sound is ok. I still miss the sound of my Impreza. But at least it's a nice deep tone.

Yeah I was scared it would be too loud and I'd loss my "lexus cabin". But it's not loud at all. My Impreza was LOUD! It's a nice deep tone IMO. But I haven't heard any other exhausts in person.

What's strange to me is how the exhaust tone fades away after 4000rpm?

Yeah, I dunno....the Lexus sounds mechanical if that makes any sense. With the exhaust it gives it a sportier sound. Deeper sounds below say 1500 RPMs. The Intake takes over at something like 4000 RPMs. WOT, i dont much hear anything that is loud. Guess I am the same as you, had a downpipe, HKS intake and Super Dragger on my Supra TT, I have said it before. It would give a UPS truck a run for its money.

Even top down driving I dont think the exhaust is loud. To each their own though.

After driving with it on for a couple of days I'm really enjoying the deep exhaust note. Just enough to not get annoying.

I got the F-sport exhaust also. It seems like from 1-3.5k RPM it is loud. Then when it reaches 3.5-5k it quiets down. When it reaches red line it gets loud again..
