Now i realize that it is not worth it. I'm just doing what i can to save money.
catback is not worth it on the IS350. 10 WHP for $1500? You are better off spending your money on something else. If you really want to get a mid pipe and axle back. I would prefer the tanabe with invidia. Best bang for the buck.

Not really.

The Invidia midpipe is $449 and if it's like the megan adds 1-2 hp. That's HORRIBLE bang for the buck.

_just_ an axle back, and a used one, is the best bang/buck.... 400ish bucks for 7 hp. (or 700ish new)

Even that is pretty awful by the $-per-hp standards I'm used to, but it's way better than $449 for 2 hp or $1000 more for 3 more hp.

^^ You guys all have great opinions & it's great that you always share them..

Modifying your car with Performance Parts is always fun..

Some just buy parts for the name..
Some do it for the extra noise..
and
Some do it for the True Rwhp Gains..

I got tired of the slow under hp IS350.. so I got an IS-F... LoL

Best Bang for the Buck to date..!!

^^.. But hey, that's just my Opinion.

That's right. Get an IS-F and don't worry about these menial mods.
But unfortunately I didn't have the money to get an IS-F. :P

No, I agree completely... I've always said the cheapest way to make your 2IS significantly faster is to trade it in for a faster 2IS model.... while it applies more to the 250->350 gap it's certainly still true for 350->F. It's just that having come from a car that was much faster than a 350 (or an F for that matter) I realized I don't use the extra power 95% of the time so the 350s plenty fast enough for a daily driver to me. (a 250 definitely was not)

The one exception for bang/buck would be nitrous, but that has plenty of other issues most folks won't want to deal with.

Personally I'm used to cars where 40-50 bucks per hp is about the most you'd need to spend when modding for power... on the 2IS quite a lot of what's available is 2-3 times that much per hp which puts it comfortably in the not-worth-it category.

Hell, I wouldn't have even bought my Tanabe if I'd had to pay the "new" parts price for it.... nor my F-sport intake if I hadn't gotten both forum-vendor-like pricing plus 30% off from Microsoft (I'd have bought the Joe Z intake instead of course )

Just installed the HKS exhaust, and i'm not sure i'm liking it. IT drones at low RPM's like everyone said. I guess i was expecting it to sound like my G35. I'm gonna pair it with the invidia mids tomorrow and go from there. I might throw my stock axle back exhaust with the invidia mids to see if i like that. IF I'm not happy with this set up it will be on the classified forum for sure. LATer

^^ Ditch the OEM "Y" lay out and go with a Full True Dual Exhaust..
The sound is unmatchable...
