F-sport intake ONLY- your opinions and input
I come to you all again in hopes of getting some input about the F-sport intake. I have a BONE STOCK IS350. After having it for a year, I've realized that it is TOOOO quiet especially when I'm gunning it (I came to this realization after taking my cousins M3 and M5 to the track). While it is quiet, I really LIKE the quiet sound that is characteristic of Lexus. With that said, I want a more aggressive sound ONLY when I open it up. I like the sound of my car during NORMAL driving conditions (when I'm not driving crazy). After reading a couple of threads, I beieve the F-sport intake will allow me to accomplish just that. For that reason, I'm NOT getting an exhaust. So basically, I want keep the sound of my LEX exactly the same as it is now EXCEPT when I really open it up. From what I have described above do you think the F-sport is a good idea? If not, what are some other exhausts? Am i right in my decisions to stay away from an exhaust. Is there any disadvantage to only getting an INTAKE without installing an exhaust? Thanks for your help...any input will be greatly appreciated.

Yup it will... a Joe Z pipe with holes in the airbox would too, and cheaper, but some folks don't want to do that to the stock box.
Do that first and see how you like it.
If you still want louder after that a Tanabe exhaust'd probably be the next step, it's still awfully quiet/close to stock sounding when you're not on the gas.

under normal driving/accellerating you don't hear the F-Sport intake at all.
Its when you push it a little, around the 4K RPM range do you hear a nice mild roar under the hood. Sound perfect for a Lexus.

Or you can just drill a hole in the bottom of your current air filter. But I guess that'd be alittle ghetto. For me the fsport line is the way to go. Got the fsport intake/springs/rims on my 350 and it feels great! Albeit there's the notorious "thud" caused by the coilslap on the springs, but that's only on big bumps on mediocre speeds. But my cars feels great now and love driving it every day. Although I really don't want to get an exhaust, I do want a different exhaust tip. Something like this so that it looks similar to stock, but nicer :P

I got the f-sport intake a month ago and could not be happier. My car is all stock .... for now .... I am enjoying the sound when you open it up on the freeway! I highly recommend intake. It sounds like a baby demon is roaring when you floor it =)

I had my f sport for a while now..and yes sounds great..but if you want really loud that sounds monstrous..and not to worry about CARB legal stuff here in CALI..you should get the fujita intake...its a little louder than f sport...and exhaust your should get JOE Z.. ask him about it...sound better then the G 35's or the 37's...IMO pm joe z about his exhaust...

all in all, at the end of the day...these intakes unless they are cold are just for sound like people said...f sport has umph... i have a fujita and it sounds great...albeit it probably performs worse than the fsport lol...but insignificant anyways

fujita ftw..... IMO fsport parts are mostly jus hype... lol im not a fan of them at all.. you could find way nicer goodies that arent "fsport" that look/sound better and cost you less (for the same parts i mean)
fujita>fsport intake
hks>fsport exhaust
etc.... jus a few examples
