This is Great news...!!

Interested in seeing before and after dynos completed on a stock IS350..

This will give a better read out of actual gains from just the headers..

Did you try the dyno with a stock exhaust? That full exhaust may have boosted the hp a bit more.

This.

When I saw 265 "before" I kinda assumed it was otherwise stock since I'm pretty sure I've seen stock 350s dyno that.

Obviously gains are gains, but if uncorking decent power from these headers requires an extra +1k exhaust behind it that obviously changes the bang/buck math a touch.

What I'd love to see is a before/after dyno on a bone stock 2IS changing nothing but the headers (and ideally leaving the secondary cats in place so that, while still illegal, the car would still at least stand a chance of fooling a visual inspection)

You should make it out to a meet sometime, I'd love to check out your IS.
Thanks! Let me know next time you all are meeting up and I will try to make it.

Unfortunately we were unable to dyno it stock as I had done my mods already. Based on specs and design, the gains should be around the same. Nonetheless, I believe they are going to design a full header/exhaust system as well, which would allow someone to take full advantage of bolting on ~30rwhp for a lot less money than forced induction.

Also, keep in mind we used a Mustang Dyno, which typically reads lower than Dynojets. The car would probably dyno much closer to 300 on a Dynojet, however a question of accuracy then arises.

I am very interested in the sound, rasppy? how is it?

I would also say that most people who go the extra mile to get these headers are probably those to have aftermarket exhaust

I think as long as all the pulls are done on the same machine, under similar conditions, the numbers will be pretty accurate.

I'm just trying to figure if the type of exhaust will affect the % gain in rwhp over a car without the headers.

Seems a few of us are all suggesting the same thing here...

Start with stock / base dynos.. Then dyno just the header to see the gains..
Then dyno with a custom exhaust to see the gains..

or if they make another full system, dyno that after all the other numbers have been properly obtained..

Just a suggestion on "how to" properly obtain the correct data.

**Might be time for them to get a stock IS350 in there hands, to complete the Dyno R&D on just the headers.

Are the stainless steel headers or the cermamic coating necessary??

When the car is cold it is very raspy at about 2500-3000rpm and decent acceleration. After a little bit of driving it goes away.

For measuring gains, yes. I was just saying OVERALL numbers.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, we didn't have a stock midpipe to bolt on the car, only the cat-back portion. We had to make do with what we had.

I'd be curious to know if my intake made a difference or if I would make more hp using yours ..

The coating is totally necessary unless you want rusted headers. I had mine coated with the black and they look SWEET.
