Why No Turbo Charger? Look At The E46 M3

It sounds like there are two camps in this discussion. The first one enjoys adding modifications and pushing the envelope with the 2IS. Why? Because it's fun and adds a touch of uniqueness to our vehicles. The second says "Why bother if it's not a 2JZ?".
To the second group - we hear you loud & clear. But you're obviously on a different page then the rest of us, and your arguments are getting tedious.

I would venture to guess that the M3 is a sports car and marketed as such so tuning companies are more inclined to want to work with that platform rather than a Lexus which has not been notorious for making sports cars. That's just a guess though, but seems reasonable... Hopefully with time we will see more and more FI for the IS350/250. We also have to remember how long the E46 has been around (going on 10 years) vs the IS (going on 4 years) and how long it's taken for it to get where it is with FI.
Even to this day, a lot of people on the M3 boards will say that FI is not a "Good" option for the money; they too, realize bang for the buck is important. With that said, does any one have any idea what it would cost to put a 2JZ into an ISx50?

Yes, I believe you are missing something. I don't think the OP was asking the question because the M3 and IS350's performance are comparable; I think he was asking because way back when, people were saying that FI is not a (feasible) option for the E46 M3, but now they are a few high HP FI'd E46 M3s running around. So the question is if the M3 can do it despite doubters why can't the IS350 do it as well?

If you do want the rest of the car to work, well, one guy had over $50,000 into the project (on top of the cost of the IS350) and the car still didn't work.

I was responding to this post:
Why are people comparing the M3 to the 350 when they should be comparing it to the F....
E46 M3 / E92 335i vs. IS350 is a good comparo.
E92 M3 vs. IS-F is a good comparo.
Try understanding the context of what I'm posting next time before you preach to the choir.

"He's talking forced induction on a 6 cylinder. 3.5L / 3.2L, 306hp/333hp, same torque, 13 second capable, roughly the same around a track... am I missing anything?"
What I am saying is that the stats don't matter because the OP is not asking the question based on how close the cars are in stock form or on paper. He's asking based the fact that people said the E46 M3 was no good for FI as people are saying the IS is not good for FI.
So before you attempt to call someone out maybe you, too, should try understanding.
Anyway, I don't see a need to create any arguments here...

I fully understand what your post was about, but you came out with stats comparing an E46 M3 to an IS350, which is really not relative...

Refer to my post here then:
Apples to oranges - Lexus' internal component design with timing, ignition and fuel delivery varies greatly from BMW's design on the M3.
