It's more peppy only because you're putting your foot into it to listen to the sound

Seriously, though, I thought it felt a little more peppy too, like it revs up a little easier.

honestly, in all seriousness, I'm not much of a placebo guy, least I try not to be... and I truly feel this feels a bit more responsive.

prolly the aggressive tone tho, but: McDonalds Slogan "I'm lovin' it!"

It's the tone.

Even the best butt dyno in the world can't reliably detect a <3% increase in power.

BUT.... (no pun intended), does a feeling that the car is less restrictive and accelerates smoother necessarily mean that's its faster time-wise???

It may not be any quicker, but to me the car feels more "efficient". Of course, it could be more like it SOUNDS more efficient, thus supporting your argument.

Great write up. F-sports all the way!!!! Sounds deep, aggressive, and just that side of being noise compliant for a DD

Alright Mdgrwl, You have convinced me to Install the F-sport exhaust and pull the HKS. I really like the HKS now with the silencers though but I really was looking for the more midrangey tone like you described instead of the low end... I know Invidia is working on a AWD midpipe that may help, but I gotta try the F-sport out.

Any drone issues with the F-Sport? How is the noise level in the car?

Drone? Depends on what you call drone... There is a constant hummmmmm tone in the cabin cruising at 80mph. Its not loud or obnoxious, but its present. Thats the only time I would say this exhaust 'drones'... but most coming from louder set ups would call this weak sauce.

In cabin noise overall depends on how much your on the gas. Under 'grandma' style driving, the noise if actually fairly quiet but having that signature throaty tone. As soon as you get on it though, it gets pretty loud.

I think these basic principals apply to most exhaust for the ISx50. And if your wondering, I'm still LOVING this exhaust. G35 tone on steroids!

Naah, I guess I was referring to the 1800-3000rpm madness I was dealing with on the HKS. It's fine now with the silencers installed but before that, hills and just starting out from a light were a little harsh for me inside the car. I'm torn because I like the HKS now, but I think the tone of the F-sport is really where I'd like to be.

Glad to hear it. I'll have to do the swap in a few weeks, maybe over the Thanksgiving break when I get some free time. Guess I can always sell the HKS if I like the F-Sport better.

On a mountain road, my finding is that the constant hummmmmm tone is noticable over 2000 rpm and loudest around 2500 rpm, but on highway, road noise or my music covers the drone up most of the time.
