How do you get 300 whp out of this car without spraying it?

Am I doing my math wrong?
stock+265
Intake+5
PPE+16
Cback+12
total=298
This is assuming best conditions, and PPE +16 HP.
(I know, brought this back from the dead, but if someone can independently prove PPe's results we have a 300whp cars on our hands.)
& if thats the case, PPE + n20 here I come=]

Are you saying that with a 12 whp full catback exhaust, the new PPE header was only able to push an additional 4 whp? Or that you need a full catback for the PPE headers to be fully utilize and push 16 whp on top of the 12 whp from the catback exhast?

the guy in this thread got 16whp but he also had invidia midpipes and a tanabe axleback.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-on-is250.html
i assume it's only 4-5hp from the headers since 175whp seems to be what the IS250 pushes stock.
in this one https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...0-headers.html
the guy got 21hp, but it seems like they were testing from stock. since 265whp is about what the IS350 runs.
so it might be about 10whp gain from the headers.

Got the PPE headers in @ 1 month ago.( Haven't put them on yet) When I dynoed my car last it pulled 278 WHP with full exhaust, intake, & SAFC leaning out to 13.2 A/F. So I would have to pick up 22 WHP from the headers.....BIG LOL never going to happen! I bet I lose HP. Nothing to do with PPE but I've never seen a NA V6 with headers gain more than @ 1-3 hp. Most lost @ 5-15 HP. Its in the motor design and piston firing order that kills gains from headers.
V8 - Always has at least 2 pistons firing on the same bank.
I-4 - Always has at least 2 pistons firing on the same bank.
V6 - Only has one piston firing per side at any given time. Can't create much of a vacume for the other cylinders. = No gains......

I'm interested to see your dyno results. We've never had a header loose hp before. As for other V6 headers, our NA 370Z headers made 23whp on a dynojet. Then again, you don't see many equal length, long tube production headers with merge collectors.
The IS350 we did our testing on already had an F-sport intake and custom dual exhaust. We got a 16whp gain with the addition of only our headers.
It dynoed at 265whp with the dual exhaust and F sport intake. It is a low base line for those mods, but every dyno is different, this was done on the Mustang Dyno at ADS in chandler. Their dyno puts out on the lower side.

My dyno is on here somewhere. I'm not saying yours lost power, I don't know yet. Im waiting until the DA / weather changes to install and dyno. My previous dyno was 72 degrees @ 40% RH. I'm hoping I gain power (thats why I bought them) I will post up the unbais results. I know one thing is they sure do look good!! I can't wait to get them on.

The car was some forum moderator. I can try to look for the dyno sheet if you want.

A V-6 is two I-3 engines with piston firing 120 degrees apart and essentially 360 degrees of dead time. There are no 180 degree phases anywhere and because the two I-3 banks are normally 60 degrees apart (for primary balance) even the two banks aren't 180 degrees apart. But the entire engine fires at 120 degree intervals, so it can be fair smooth.
A V-8 is two I-4 engines at 90 degrees (for primary balance). Many V-8s respond well to 4-2-1 with those two banks dumping into a single common tube so it ends up being 8-4-2-1 with opposing pairs at each merge and the 180 degree scavenging working at each merge as well.
