Default Tanabe Drone Question

I'm thinking of upgrading the exhaust on my car, admittedly just for the sound. I love the way my wife's G35 sounds at startup and the general rumble it has vs the anemic exhaust on the IS350. I don't really want to have a loud obnoxious or high pitched exhaust sound, so it sounds like the Tanabe is the way to go.

Based on what I've read here, though, it seems the Tanabe drones? Is it intrusive or "ricer" (sorry if that's an offensive term) or more of a background purr? Is it really noticeable when cruising on the highway?

Sorry if these are annoying questions, but I want to have a nice classy but deeper exhaust note

I don't know why everyone says Tanabe drones because mine sure doesn't drove unless i'm giving it constant gas like going uphil slowly. I have resonators removed and I only get a little droning. I believe the Tanabe will be perfect for you but your probably going to think it's too quiet after you have it for awhile The Tanabe sounds more quiet then G35 stock exhaust IMO and in no way does it sound ricer.

lol.

If you want a g35 sound get a g35.

Yes, the Tanabe drone, it drones around 60-80 mph, which are around 2-2.5k rpm.

Is it loud? Not really, the tire noise are louder. When it starts up cold, it sounds ricey because it is a super loud drone for a good 30 secs, from inside it doesn't sound very impressive either.

However, today I was picking up someone at the airport and right when they walk towards my car, the cop told me to move... I got mad so I floored it right in front of the airport cop with my windows down... MAN THAT SOUNDED SCHWEEET

another member who loves G35 sound...
sucks you will never get that sound from IS..if you like G35 sound..you should get G35 period
Tanabe is one of the quietest exhaust..F-sport is little more aggressive but definitely does NOT sound like G35

if you don't like to drone, stock exhaust plus midpipe might be your alternative

I know the lexus exhaust made by HKS was discontinued, but is that one a bit quieter or about the same?

I agree with the most here, G35 exhaust sound is very unique, only way is to get one. Otherwise, either Tanabe/F-sport/Lexus HKS stands out on its own

Lexus HKS is little louder than Tanabe but little quieter than F-sport

Here are couple of videos...in the 1st video, the person starts driving at around 3min 26sec. From these two links I'm sure you'll see the related clips that can give you some ideas of what to expect. Enjoy!

1) F-Sport intake + Tanabe exhaust

Anybody who thinks the tanabe drones hasn't ever driven a car with real exhaust drone. (like the 500hp NA 383 stroker with no cats, tri-y headers, and full dual exhaust I drove before my IS)

Tanabe's have one of the cleanest and solid sound for our IS's. That was my first exhaust i loved it. comparing to my old Greddy's SE theirs no droning! btw the tanabe's and f-sport intake will sound really clean IMO

I have the Greddy SE and it is quiet but loud when you need it to! It has a great deep sound at start and then I can only hear it when I constantly give it gas. Other than that, it is super quiet!
