That kit is not worth the money. If you go around ebay adding up all the individual pieces of that kit, you can make it out for around $800 lol. If I were spending $1500, I would at least get a better turbo and wastegate. The rest of that kit is ok, I just wouldn't trust the turbo and WG.

Yep pretty much. Most of the other stuff in the kit is just for support.
Here's a breakdown if you want to piece together a half decent turbo kit yourself:
$800 - For a decent turbo like a Garrett or Precision. The ebay ones work just fine for low boost, but I rather put something in that has much more R&D into it. The name brand turbos also tend to take high boost better. I'm talking like 20-25psi+. If you're under that then you can cheap out on a ebay turbo IF YOU WANT to.
$300 - Tial v44 wastegate. You can use a knockoff WG if you want(in that case drop price to around $100 for a WG). I've installed a few and so far no problems at all. I was actually quite surprised lol. But the QC is questionable on those, so you might get bad one and kill the motor by over boosting it. For the additional $200 for a legit WG is good peace of mind IMO.
$40 - BOV & BOV flange. A knock off one will work just fine. This is not exposed to high very temps.
$125-150 - Intercooler, ebay brand is just fine. As long as it's bar and plate you're good.
$125-150 - Turbo manifold, again ebay ones are fine.
$125-150 - Intercooler piping kit. This will be a universal kit, so there will be fab work needed to fit it to your car.
$75-100 - Downpipe, either buy that stainless one on ebay or get one custom fabbed.
$150 - Oil feed and return. DO NOT go cheap on this and MAKE SURE you know how to put together fittings CORRECTLY. Oil leaks can cause fires!
Hey look, that added up total was $1740! Of course that does not include a fuel system, headgakset, or any engine management...but neither does the ebay turbo kit and that one costs $1450. For ONLY $300 more you can buy a much higher quality setup!

all agreed, but you of all people know that its not just $300 more (well unless like you said running low boost) My 'race car' is the GP in my sig and when I do exactly what you do while showing people how to do thing with the car you KNOW, they think its about slapping major boost for a couple grand and call it a day not understanding theres A LOT more money to be thrown at the car for supporting mods. However in the GP world, its kinda fun watching everyone blow their trannys cause they didnt want to listen or spend the extra few bucks on needed mods
(yea i'm bored and that probably had no significant meaning )

Total in all with engine management, fuel system, and all turbo components...I'd say around $2500. I haven't put NA-T in my 2nd GS yet. I ended up doing that for someone else so it didn't go into my car lol. Didn't bother to change the status on my signature heh. I'll post up a detailed thread in the following weeks when I have time to build the car. This should make around 325-350rwhp. I have it setup pretty conservatively, it is capable of much more but I keep it down for daily reliability. I'll try to make it into a weekend build with full writeup
