I'm confused. Were you throwing parts at the problem or did the mechanic who worked on your car have no clue what they were doing? The procedures for diagnosing these problems are clear and fairly simple, I hate hearing about people wasting money buying unnecessary parts.

I had this code after changing my starter. I took some carburetor cleaner and sprayed the sides of the intake manifold and found out that is where the leak was coming from. So I changed out the intake manifold gaskets and the code went away.

Default how to find a vacuum leak...

A friend of mine had found a vacuum leak by spraying "start gas" around the intake manifold and surrounding areas and lsiten to the idle speed of the engine. When the "start gas" get sucked into the intake manifold and enters the combustion chamber, the idle rev's goes up if you have a leak.

The "Start gas" (i do not know a different name for it) is the kind of gas you can spray into the carburator in old engines to get them running
