The error code is #667 which indicates tranny problem according to the Lexus service manual.

Now you guys know what I am going through.. the not knowing if there is going to be a problem with the car or not..
Kinda like a hit-and-miss thing. Some have the 'check engine light' and some don't.. Kinda disturbing..

Well, I did think 3000 stall was high- I had ask Jack at PI to explain why, because i was confused since some of us a CL are running lower stalls.. He said "You ask the expert what was our opinion and I told you 3000 is best" I wasn't doubting him- but he could be Wrong!

And now Mo said 2800 stall but keep the stock gearing with LSD.
Well, I have the RMM 3.76 LSD what should I get? Which Stall is best with my setup?

Thanks Everyone,
QWK

If not even PI is right, I don't know whom to trust when it comes to TC. Like I Said, I'm not sure if my TC is either 2800rpm or 3000rpm. But one thing for sure, I got it from SRT more than an year ago. So if they haven't changed the spec, then I would have stall speed 2800rpm one according to Mo.

I've been running over 10k miles with the engine check light on and so far so good. My local Lexus dealer has replaced the throttle body and some other parts and couldn't find out the source of the problem.

If you are really concerned about this, I'd say forget it. I've never heard that I have to couple the TC with TRD LSD to eliminate the problem.

QWK,

I'd recommend 2800 or even 2600 stall TC. If you laready have 3.76 rear end, with 3000 rpm TC, you'll fry your tires at every hard launch

Well, Alittle tire Spin is Ok , I'm not really into all that tire-smoking anymore. I like low-end grunt w/ a better out of the hole launch. Maybe I should consider a lower stall like 2600 since i do already have the 3.76 gears.

I just had a thought- I was wondering if there was any correlation between Higher stalls and the 'check light'?

Anyone with a lower stall and NO 'Light"????

Thanks,
QWK

Lightbulb T/C Selection Info

Gang - Here's the rule of thumb that John Lingenfelter uses in selecting a T/C. He chooses a stall speed close to the beginning of the engine's powerband ( allows the engine to get into that rpm range faster thus yielding quicker times ). In the case of a naturally aspirated GS, isn't it rated at 300 HP @ 3k rpms ( from the factory )? That means that a 3k stall T/C would probably be THE best fit but the real world doesn't always apply here. IMHO, 2800 is close enough ( besides, I thought that Precision only offered that stall speed in an OFF THE SHELF application ). They can make U a T/C which will stall at any speed U desire - at an extra cost? The addition of a supercharger generally moves the torque powerband down a few hundred rpms so that would explain the suggestion by SRT to utilize their lower stall 2400 T/C with their S/C. Also remember the concept of "flash" stall that I tried to explain earlier - that should get U the extra 200 rpms up to 3k. Unless PI doesn't charge extra for the slightly higher 3k version, I'd save the $ for use elsewhere & just get the 2800 model. Choose well!!
