Default Spoke to Precision Industries (Manufacturer for TC's)

I Just spoke to Jack at Precision Industries, and I ask him about whats the best TC for my car and with my RMM 3.76 he recommends the 3000 Stall Converter.. He says that works very well. It cost $938.00.

Just want to share the info.

Wow 3000 stall, that seems kind of a high stall speed IMO.
What kind of mods are you planning on doing next with a high stall like the one your interested in...

I'm running stall 3000 rpm precision industries TC on my 430 without problems...except an engine checkup light.

QWK,

Just remove the LED of the engine check light. I didn't remove it. I've learned to accept it.

So exactly which check engine light is being lit. By that I mean which code is actually causing the check engine light to come on? That might help figure out this problem.

Dealer kept my car for 2 weeks and they couldn't find out anything wrong with my car and the "bug" that caused the engine check light. No error code whatsoever. Interesting eh?

Since they couldn't find out what is wrong, they fill up the gas tank and gave me couple lexus pens. LOL.

That's funny about the check engine light, I have the TC and no check engine light for me, I have about 8,000 miles on it now...
Did anyone call PI to see what the problem would be?

It's the ECU. 430 tends to have more problem with aftermarket TC.

Not absolutely correct.

If you get the stall speed and the correct stator pump then you will not get a check engine light. We have sold many GS/LS/SC430 TC's without a single one causing the check engine light to show.

Also a 3000 RPM stall is too high especially for the 3.76 Rear. For a 430 we recommend a 2800 stall and keep the stock 3.26 rear and replace the spider gears with the TRD clutch type LSD.

Ask your dealer what is the stored code for the check engine light (MIL - Malfunction Indicator Light) If there is a MIL then there must be a code. If your dealer does not know how to get the code then take it to another dealer.

FYI - We also sell the PI TCs built to our specs and our price is $875 +s/h.

I got my SRT/PI 2800 TC installed on my 98 GS4 last Nov, and no error lights of any kind; had the HFI installed at the same time.

Mo,

I got the torque converter sold from SRT and I'm also using SRT's intake/ecu for 430. Unfortunately I couldn't provide any error code at this moment but I will definitely take it to another dealer during summer for another check up.

Does any of your client have over 5000 miles after they do the installation and report no problem? In my case, the light came up after 5000 miles. After disconnect the battery and reset the ECU, the light still came up after maybe 50 miles.

This is very strange as another GS430 owner have the same situation on his 01 and 02 GS430.
