Default 08 IS250 Tanabe Exhaust Uneven Length Problem :(

Hi guys, I just installed my brand new Tanabe Medalion Touring Exhaust for my 08 IS250. However I found my left side (driver side) is stick out of the bumper 1.5~2cm longer than the right side and is 1cm lower then the right side too. I thought this system is direct bolt on and no need for adjustment. What did I do wrong? What can I do to adjust this?

Congrats on the new exhaust!!

Thought I was the only one!! After a while I didn't care.. but yeah my driver's side sticks out a bit and it sits a bit lower. One day I will take it apart and try to fix it, but right now im too busy with work.

For the lower part you can use something to tie it back up and it would be even. I wouldn't use tie zip because it will break on you. Find some metal wires and tire it back up.

There are a lot of threads of how to fix it. Search around a bit.

Thanks guys. I fixed it. Drove it into a muffler shop. Cut off the pipe right by the cannister and expanded the the pipe diameter slightly with professional machies (the cannister side). Stick the whole thing back (pipe of the cannister side over the orginal cut lip to ensure no flow restriction), tweaked it to the right height and length, weld it back using CO2. Total costed me, 27 dollars and 20 minutes... I guess Tanabe exhaust ain't precision made, kinda dissapointed. After the mod, everything feels right out of the box, no leak, perfect hummmm, best of all dead center without zip tides nor worrying about ruining the rubber hanger. BTW, unless you know how to weld and expand pipe diameter properly, don't do this mod yourself. Pay the damn money! LOL!

Not feeling cutting nor I would do that if it is just because one side is lower/stick slightly more than the other, but that just me.

Mine was fine, just one side hung a tiny bit lower.

Numerous folks have reported the same "problem" with HKS/F-sport and other axle-backs. It's not a tanabe problem specifically.
