The car only has a eBay intake heat wraped, with a blox Velocity Stack & Blox Filter. Everything else is stock..

It made 272whp..

Yeah, unless you dynoed it bone stock, on the same dyno, then this data is pretty useless.

anyone know why would it be useless. it just shows how much the car is currently making now.

from what i gather, Lexus people rarely dyno their cars. 272whp is pretty impressive for just a intake.

Basically it shows that my car is within spec of other cars with the same mods. its then safe to say that this ebay intake functions the same as other name brand intakes.

I dont think a baseline is necessary because lets say i gained 2whp. So your saying my mystock IS350 makes 270whp stock? so what if my baseline. lets say my baseline was 260whp. and i made 272whp. 12whp on a ebay intake, not sure if people wanna hear that esp if they bought some injen or baller baller intake.

you want a baseline to see if you made any gains or it's just making noise. some intakes can lead to a loss of power.

cause the benchmark for intake is joe z which is $125 and proven +5 hp and +5 torque.

but what im saying is my 272whp within +5 of what an joez would be making? is it the same, higher, or lower?

So if same then joez intake makes the same hp as my ebay intake?

if higher, then ebay intake is better than joez?

if lower, then my is350 makes 267whp bone stock?

Since you didn't dyno stock you have no idea.

Every dyno can read a bit differently (some very differently).

For all you know on this particular dyno it would have made 275 stock and you lost power.

Or maybe it made 265 and you gained it.

No way to know.

That's why you do a baseline on the same dyno when it's stock then go back to that dyno when you put a mod on.

(also why you try and get everything else as similar as possible and if possible do 3 runs each time)

IDK what kind of dyno it is, but there's a place in Concord that will do 3 runs for $30. Least that's what they advertised a few months back
