Did it make ANY power difference you can tell? Help or hurt, high mid or low RPM? Throttle response? Any droning at steady state cruising?
There is some droning at 2000 - 3000 rpm. It's not the low frequency "hum" that I had with the resonator. the exhaust note is a higher, throatier pitch that you can't really hear on the video. I did notice while driving home from work that after 3000 rpm the car seems to pull a little harder. It has not hurt power one bit. Conclusion, low rpm no change, mid-high rpm pulls harder. Got the attention of some guys at the local Lexus dealer today.
If I do something like this, to reduce overhung weight, is there a bolt on part (silencer) small enough to not negate the weight savings?
Either way you would sill have to cut at the factory y-pipe. The opposite side of the muffler can be unbolted from the stock pipe. I imagine you could get a muffler shop to weld a flange onto the factory y-pipe to create a bolt on situation. The smallest silencer I've found is this http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=8397 .

That may work. Thanks.
It's only 120 bux from amazon and another place. so two of these is 240+130 =~ 370 say 400 bux... approaching half the price of some used catback system.
