Default Adjustability of VSC system?

I searched and couldn't find anything definitive on adjusting the VSC system.

Here is why I ask:

I'll be on a decently smooth road with a few curves, nothing special or extreme, going the speed limit (35-40mph), and VSC will kick in mid-turn. Or I'll get on a 270-degree on-ramp, and about halfway through at about 45-50 mph, the VSC nanny kicks in. It does not matter if its wet or dry outside. It typically happens when I turn right, but can also happen when going left.

I'd like to be able to leave VSC on if it's possible to adjust out this hypersensitivity.

My setup:
1999 GS400 on coilovers with staggered wheels. Lowered but not slammed, maybe 1"-1.5" lower than stock. Fresh alignment and wheel balance last week. Tires properly inflated.

The one thing that I can think of that may be increasing VSC activation is my wheel setup: 235/45R17s on 8" wheels up front, 255/40R17s on 9" rears--which, according to the tire size calculator at miata.net, results in an overall diameter difference of 0.3 inch. I guess I should've gone with 265s out back...

So, in short, can anything be adjusted here or will I have to disable VSC until I get 4 tires with exactly the same diameter?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
