Default RMM Exhaust is LLOOONNNGGG

So, I just received a pair of the RMM mufflers from another CL member in the classifieds this week.

Cleaned them up and went out to measure them up with my stock GS bumper and wooaahh..

First or all the muffler is 2 inches longer. Then the exhaust tip is 4 inches longer!!

So much for a flush look...

Should have stuck with the Borlas, oh well.

Guess I am going to have to order some Magnaflow 2 1/2"x4"x5" tips, cut the RMM pipe and weld these new tips on.

Wondering if I might have saved $$$ just going with the Borlas...

i love the way my RMM looked on my car.. your better off selling the RMM and buying something else instead of hacking it.

I agree. They're made to go with an aftermarket bumper like, you guessed it, the RMM bumper. Try to trade with someone or just post them up for sale.

Sort of a catch 20-20 at this point. I waited 6 months for the RMM's or Borlas to come on the market used.

Price wise to sell or trade these with shipping I 'm sort of back to square one with my cash outlay. And then there's the time waiting for a trade.

When it's time to part out the GS, I am sure I can find a buyer without the RMM bumper that would love a custom RMM Exhaust flush with their stock bumper.. RMM outsourced the exhaust to Magnaflow anyway..LOL.

The Magnaflow tips (#35136) look very nice. Much better than the RMM's IMO.

The reason I chose the RMM over the Borla is I don't want ANY drone. I guess there is a slight drone at certain RPM's with the Borla's and none with the RMM..

Wow! are you sure those are RMM's??!!??

Those cans look like 16" instead of 18" and dont say Magnaflow. And the pipes leading to the tips are like 3" shorter...

What's up with RMM???? Now I'm confused...

My tips are round but angled. The tip is not rolled. The exhaust pipe is inside the tip and its almost flush with the end of the chrome tip inside. The chrome tip is 4" wide and the pipe inside (which you can see the edge) is almost the same 3 3/4".

Looks like the 2 1/2" pipe widens out to 3 3/4" and flush with the end of the exhaust tip.

why not cut the extended portion of the exhaust tip off and make it shorter like vwynn's pic.. looks like they welded it on just to make the tips longer for some odd reason.

i own of one of the non Magnaflow branded but you guys pretty much answer my question, when i got them i was sure I've seen this muffler before then you guys hit on the nail with Rmm sourcing them to Magnaflow..i also agree that there much quieter till you hit a certain rpm then it growls I love it
also third thing I really don't like the fact that dont really match the factory bumper but your saying the RMM bumper can make IT look flush once installed ? i need to fine a picture of that

HERE I GO HITTING THE SEARCH BUTTON...

mines not short... its average

mine is RMM cuz it says RMM on one of the sides.. i think its the TOP.

as for fitment not sure if adding a RMM bumper will make it flush since i think these mufflers were made to stick out a lil?
