why not a GS300 to start with? The difference between 300 and 400 can probably save you 1/2 on the swap.

It's most likely doable. Tranny should be the same. ECU too just different wiring diagram. But if you want to swap 2JZ-GTE you should replace the tranny also (either Supra 5-speed or Aristo 4-auto). Don't think 2JZ-GTE will work with the US-spec 5-speed auto. Doesn't exist in Japan with this combo.

so if i want to swap 2jzgte the US 5 speed auto won't work.. what I plan to do is get a gs400 drive it for couple of months and swap it to 2jzgte and use the stock tranny.. that will save me a lot of $$$.. I'm trying to find out how much the whole package going to cost then i will decide if i should do it or not..

nah not another 6 speed.. my left foot still hurt

Default you could also try...

If you can find a wrecked Aristo V300 (unlikely) with a perfectly good front end (highly unlikely) the cheapest route to go would be to switch the entire front clip rather than doing the engine swap/fitment alone because it should come entirely with everything you need, tranny, ecu... etc. It's an option but it's not likely unless you have the hookups.

That is all.

It's the best if you could get a V300 engine and auto box from Japan, that way you will not have any transmission troubles when the swap is finished.
Also, start with a GS300!!

that's what i thought but it wasn't easy to find one...call serval place no one has them... also looking for used 2jz from a wrecked supra ask serval shops i got not even one phone call back... i'am still waiting for price quote on new 2jzgte..

by the way do you guys think the engine from 99 gs400 will work in 95 sc400?? i found a high millege 95 sc4 and low miles 99 gs4... i plan to put the gs4 engine into older sc4 and do a 2jz swap for gs4.. i might pick up both cars next week so i want to see what my options are..

most importantly probably the ECU and the wiring harnesses..... but I don't know if a Supra ECU would work right in a GS with the Supra's engine..... if it does you'll lose all the goodies like AYC and stuff....

in another words your GS will be a shell with a Supra engine. That's just plain weird. I would strongly suggest you find a V300 front clip. With your connections it shouldn't be too hard. If you can manage to get one of those, the rest will be a walk in the park.
