Thumbs up F-Sport Shocks, Springs, Sway Bar Set

Lexus is having their F-Sport sale until the end of July and I was thinking of upgrading the Shocks, Springs, and the Sway Bar Set as part of the "Package 1" offered by Lexus.

Has anyone installed these accessories on their car and if so is it worth the money? Any big difference in handling? Is the lowering noticeable?

Thank you!

Here is the Sale details if anyone is interested.

The link says "port-installed packages", so I wonder if you could get them without purchasing a new IS

MSRP does not include delivery, processing and handling fee of $875. Excludes taxes, title, license and optional equipment. Dealer price may vary.

$1450 + 875 = $2325, and you still have to add tax.

I had F-sport front and rear sway bars ordered and installed by my local Lexus dealership for $750 total.

F-sport springs apparently cost $300. Assuming another $250 for labor (similar to F-sport sways) that brings the total to $1300 for F-sport sways (front+rear) and F-sport springs.

Shocks are $740.

1300 + 740 + labor for installing shocks = $2040 + labor for installing shocks

Maybe the labor for installing shocks is more than $300. Nevertheless, package 1 doesn't sound like such a "bargain" price to me at all, it's pretty much on spot with what it would cost any other time of the year.

Agreed.. Personally, for that amount I'd rather purchase something like BC racing coilovers from a reputable company, like CircuitMS, but that's jus me. I guess someone will consider it a good deal though?

Get the sway bars. But I think you'll be happier with a set of aftermarket coilovers.

You might see a difference in 'feel' with the brakes but will of course observe absolutely no change whatsoever in actual stopping distance.

(the sways are a huge improvement though)

Has anyone installed these accessories on their car and if so is it worth the money? Yes. I have all 3 and it is absolutely worth the money. Whenever I take the IS to the Lexus dealership for servicing, the techs compliment the car and how firm it feels compared to the stock IS. You should be able to get the parts for a lower price thru Sewell (especially if you only get the rear sway bar and not the whole set). I installed the rear sway myself (very easy) and had an independent shop install my shocks/springs for 200 bucks.

Any big difference in handling? Yes. Most of the annoying body roll and understeer is gone and the turn-in response with the shocks/springs is greatly enhanced. I tend to break traction on many of my turns due to the car's new nature of wanting to oversteer w/ sufficient throttle.

Is the lowering noticeable? Yes. The car is lowered conservatively with an aggressive stance which is perfect for me as I do not want to have the car slammed and worry about every single bump or curb. Others here like the VIP look so it depends on how low you want to go. Hope this helps.

The value we see in this is the labor. Yes the sale is for PPO (Post Port Option). This means to receive this price, your purchase would need to accompany the purchase of a new car. PPO means once your IS arrives to the States (at the port) the Dealer can order (for their new car inventory) specifically equipped F-Sport packages to go along with their car order. The Dealership can pass on the savings to the purchaser by having the Port install the parts before hand (the Port got to keep the wheels, tires, sways or whatever else got removed) and not be forced to pay their own technicians and/or parts department for the parts.

Here's the current pricing to CL members for what's included in Package 1.

Hope this helps!

Why is this in Performance??
Shouldn't it be in Suspension?
