Got it installed today and took it out. First thing is that it shipped with 3 #52 clamps and 1 #48 clamp. The 48 clamp did not fit and I had to reuse one of the stock clamps. This may have been covered already.

Initial reactions. Sounds deeper but not overly deep. I'd rate the sound improvement 6 out of 10.

Performance improvement. Couldn't really feel any change.

All in all glad I did it. Since there are a million threads I'll keep it short and sweet.

Romped around for a little today, I definately notice more throttle response and possibly slightly more pickup. I am also upping my sound score to 8/10 and the total mod to a 9/10 (a must buy).

Another day with the intake and I am loving it even more! Just had baby #2 so trying to convince the wife spending another $1500 is reasonable!

how's the mileage now? I'm curious to see how much mpg ppl get/lose after getting the intake.

Shouldn't make any measurable difference at all.

Look up how a closed-loop car works sometime.


Generally when people claim mpg gain from an intake it's because they replaced a dirty/clogged stock air filter with whatever clean one came on the intake.


If a car maker could get a significant mileage gain from a slightly modded intake they'd ship it that way from the factory to beef up their CAFE numbers.

(likewise any observed mileage "loss" would usually be the guy romping on the gas more often because he liked the sound it makes now)

Kurtz hit the nail on the head. I am losing maybe .5 MPG but am 'all over the gas'

My filter was also pretty dirty so I'm sure after I get done 'enjoying' the intake in the next week or two, I'll post back any increase, but like I said my original filter was pretty dirty.

I really want to get the f sport intake for my 2009 is250. however, i JUST recently bought my Is 4 weeks ago, (used with 35K mileage).

my question, should i run the car awhile longer to use up my stock intake or can i just install the f sport now if i wanted? i guess it all comes down to personal preference but would like to hear more experienced opinions.

and when i do decide to install the intake, i will probably take it to the lexus dealer i purchased this car from (Longo Lexus in El monte, CA)..how much would the labor including parts cost usually run for this mod? i am a total beginner when it comes to modding vehicles so i would not want to do this mod myself, atleast not with my current experience.

You're going to wait to make a ~ $300 purchase so you can use up your $10 filter first?!? I'm assuming you meant the filter since the "stock intake" will never wear out - it has no moving parts.

As far as having the dealer install this, there is absolutely NO reason for that. Replacing the intake is quite possibly the easiest mod you can do on this car. As long as you can handle a socket wrench and a screwdriver, you can replace this yourself. It should come with an installation guide and will take you an hour MAX if you go REAL slow and take your time. Seriously, don't waste your money having somebody else do this for you and most definitely NOT the dealership.
