They are made of 16 gauge mild steel. Flanges are 3/8" mild steel. We can build them out of 304 stainless as a custom order. For less than the price of a stainless header you get a mild steel header and a ceramic coating inside and out that also offers an effective thermal barrier.
I had the same question. Typically all quality aftermarket exhaust bits are stainless, but these do look like they are just mild steel with the option of ceramic coats, etc. Very interested to know what the actual 'base' headers are made of...
Regardless, they make great power and with the ceramic coating I doubt there would ever be an issue of corrosion

Thanks for the prompt reply. I agree that mild steel with a ceramic coating makes more sense than just standalone stainless. Any idea on how these work with the stock exhaust yet? I have seen a lot of members with these hooked up to midpipes and catbacks, but no one with just stock components.
I want my car to remain as quite as possible while still having some performance gains.

Getting my car ready for a DYNO Run... when my tires come in and do a full wheel alignment..
what do you guys think i should do full interior w/spare

i take of traction control off.. leave it in snow mode since i heard it only goes up to 4th gear anymore i need to do thanks

however, i'm also interested to know if anyone welded the high flow cats into the stock midpipe. i don't want to run catless...

Here is an alternative for the o2 sensor. All the VW guys including myself use these and they work perfectly. I have personally used this on my 20th anny gti with catless 3" turboback exhaust for over 40k miles and never once had a CEL

I see that the 42DD is out of stock...here is another version this is called Wayne Angle Block I forget the guys contact info but a quick search on vwvortex would get you the answer.

This is interesting... Has anyone tried something similar on the isx50's? if yes has it worked and which exact one? It would be best if this worked as not a big fan of welding and stuff.....
