I have known about this, since it came out in 2008..

You are not changing the pollutants or O2 sensor readings, when you are swapping out to an axle back exhaust system....

So all axlebacks will basically be carb certified because they aren't changing anything...or they don't need to be certified because they aren't changing anything. Either way I think I may be leaning towards the Tanabe, nice sound and low drone. Anyone know if the tanabe touring medallion fits on a 2010? I noticed most websites only say 06-09...did they forget to update the years?

It doesn't mean it's CARB certified, it just means that it shouldn't be illegal. But again, the law seems to be vague (intentionally so I'm sure).

Like with most things involving the law, as long as you don't stick out like a sore thumb you should be safe, but if you run into a PMSing popo, there's not much you can do. As long as you keep the decibels under 95, you SHOULD be okay in Cali.

Seriously, the exhaust loudness on some muscle cars and most motorcycles are probably twice as loud as even the loudest 2IS exhaust system, yet the cops always seem to go after the imports.
