I'm pretty sure they are referring to aftermarket filters.

Try googling HKS filter and Blitz filter

Like a K&N filter that is the same spec as the stock. There are a few other brands out there as well. Basically its an upgraded filter than stock and your new pipe.

It's a filter that drops into the lower air box just like the stock air filter. You can use your stock air filter or purchase a high performance air filter made by K&N, Blitz, F-Sport etc. It's specified as a drop in air filter so you know it isn't the cone-shaped air filter that attaches directly to the intake pipe.

You can buy the FSport high perf air filter from Sewell, and I believe they do give a CL discount. As for K&N or Blitz...maybe check your local auto parts store or search online.

this may start a war (not intended) but aftermarket filters are of questionable value. poke around on bobistheoilguy.com to see various perspectives

BTW, I have a K&N filter, I just wouldn't have bought it if I knew more beforehand

F-Sport, Blitz, or HKS to maximize the performance of your upgrade. They're all made of a material that can be cleaned, so it's better value.

You won't see any performance difference at all with an aftermarket filter in the 2IS.

You will eventually save $ on not replacing the filter if you keep the car long enough though.

Best at what? Best in terms of pants?

All of them will flow more air than the engine can use.

Some are reusable.

Of those some are oil-free.

I prefer reusable and oil free, someone else might prefer disposable. (I can't think of a good reason to prefer oiled)

reusable and non-oiled. HKS is pretty much the only option. blitz is "single use". k&n is oiled. i believe f-sport is oiled too.

with aftermarket filters, the performance difference is miniscule. the paper provides better filtering.

F-sport is not oiled.

So HKS or F-sport.

What's the final word on the Blitz Air Filter and the Blitz Cabin Air AC Filter? I was under the impression that the Blitz Cabin air filter could be cleaned and reused. I had heard that the the Blitz Air Filter was officially single use but could be cleaned and reused once (And then pushed for another 15k). Also, anyone know proper procedure for cleaning both of these Blitz filters?
