What ECU/Piggyback works?

So I checked this weekend, and openEcu would communicate with the ECU, however it was only in OBDII mode, so I could log timing advance including knock sum, RPM, throttle percentage, Short Term Fuel Trim, Long Term Fuel Trim, barometric pressure, Engine temperature, and oxygen sensor feedback...
Not as usefull as I had hoped, however with the timing and knock sum I suppose it would be able to tune timing and with a wideband O2 sensor you could also log air fuel ratio...

I could not download the stock ECU or upload maps...
With the various options for datalogging such as PLX, logwerks and others it seems that this would not help very much unless you could download, change and reflash the ecu data.
