So if i want more noise and i already have the megan axle-back, what do i tell a muffler shop to do? cut out the resonator and replace with just straight piping? how much should that cost?

yes exactlly thats what i did have them cut that fat resonator that all the axle back exhausts connect to and replace it with straight pipe it will only make things betters for the air flow loudness and power! The only thing thats different with mine is it goes to a single exhaust can just bc i wanted to try somthing different that no ones really done before!

It's been 2 weeks since Ive installed my straight pipe and ive been very happy with the results. The car definitely is more responsive and smoother. HP is noticeable especially high end speeds. I even kept up neck and neck with my buddies 2004 Audi a6 2.7t with a chip which is putting out 330 hp. We raced from 55-115mph and we were side by side. Not to say the straight pipe made my IS into a monster but IS 250 owners should not underestimate the car. Enjoy your IS.

I hate to be a **** but a straight pipe added 5hp tops and there is no way that a 204hp 250 is keeping up with a slightly larger car with 125 more hp.

i had a custom midpipe with hks hi power exhaust which included no secondary cats and no resonator. I also had a fsport intake at the time and I BARELY beat another IS250... you cant be serious.. (granted I had an additional passenger and bigger/heavier rims)

LMAO I think his buddy was just coasting it and he was flooring the 250 to keep up. Sorry but even a gsr integer with less hp will spank you hands down.

Haters. Trust me I was surprised as much as he was. He confirmed that he was not coasting after we raced. So I checked the stats on line for 0-100 mph for both cars.
2006 IS 250 awd 0-100 mph 18.3 seconds
2004 Audi A6 S line 2.7t 0-100 mph 18.1 seconds
Real car enthusiast shoould know HP is only one factor in speed. I also have a 2008 128i BMW with only 230hp which smokes the Audi.

Btw. I thought this was a Lexus forum so why are talking about integras? I'll still take my Lexus any day over an Integra. FYI not here to make false claims. Just letting other Lexus owners about my IS experience. Thanks for all the non hater inputs. Very helpful which is what I thought the forum was for. For you haters of your own ride maybe you find an a6 2.7t or even a 2004 s4 and race them and let me know if I was dreaming.

There no hating for those of us who own 250 we already know how slow it is. I didn't say to pick an integra I said" it would spank the 250 hands down".. I'm sure 99% of CL would say your mid pipe did not thang. Even after market dyno at 1-2hp if that.
