Big drop (about 1.6 mpg) in gas mileage -- anyone had this happen?

^ That's my theory, along with the longer warm up times.

that would make sense but for me there is one problem. i'm in Mississippi and up until this week it has not been cold. it has been in the 70 - 50 range for months

Same here...it has been relatively mild for winter time here in ny. Imho, the stupid oil companies are cutting the gas and adding some BS to it where the car still runs fine but gets crappy gas mileage. Plus by doing this they are making even greater profits. I think they are adding more to it these days than just ethanol as stated at the pump. They are all crooks.

What they are adding is Ethanol, and the state allows the Gas company to have 15% of ethanol in gasoline by volume. The higher the Ethanol content, the crappy the MPG.

I guess down here in Florida we get the same stuff year around because my MPG goes up 1.5-1.8mpg when it gets cold and runs like a champ.

The denser air should atomize with the fuel better and with less heat soak should actually help your engines efficiency. In sense you get more bang for your spark reducing the effort that it takes to turn the motor reducing the fuel used to do s

How do you guys get such good gas mileage? There must be something wrong with my car. Ive never been able to get anything over 300miles on a tank and recently during the colder months im down to 260/tank. Car runs fine and spark plugs are pretty fresh. Only mods I have is srt intake, apex exhaust, and supra lsd. Could any of those things cause such bad mileage? Not too long ago my car threw a p0420 code, but sensors are on their way and im hoping they help.
