Default 1993-1997 GS300 oil leak

Hi all-
I have an oil leak from the driver's side of the engine where the oil filter mounting block meets the engine block. The car's service history shows that the previous owner had this fixed in December 2001. I just had it fixed on 7/18/02 and it is leaking again. Is this a common problem in GS300s or are the techs just not doing a very good job? Is this something that I should expect to recur every 30 days? If so, it pretty much sucks. Thanks.

I have a 95' geees300 with 102000 kms and have not had any problems like yours. I have a good relationship with the lexus dealer in town and they have not mentioned anything about this.

'hope everything worksout for you

Default Thanks for the reply

Thanks, gees300. The car is at the local Lexus dealer now. They claim that the oil filter housing needs replacement. I am a bit skeptical of this one. I know I am going to have to argue when I pick the car up tomorrow. They should have found this last time and they are clearly not willing to just be good guys and skip the labor charges.

make sure to have them show you the defective piece.

im sure you can argue something to them if it was only replaced 8 mo. ago.
