Default Engine Swap

Hi I am new to this forum I have a IS 300 (2002) 2JZ-GE automatic basically what I'm trying to do is switch to a manual transmission automatic is just boring but people keep telling me the it would be easier just to replace the whole engine I hear a lot of chatter on this forum about the 2JZGTE Supra so my question is what’s the best engine choice for my IS 300? Keep in mind I definitely going manual and this is my every day car some feedback will help thank you.

And how much you want to spend.

If you don't want to produce big numbers I would just keep your engine an get a used IS manual tranny.

IIRC the is300 m/t is the same as the cressida's (w55 m/t?)
someone confirm this though

W55

This was the first of the aluminum-shelled W-series transmissions.
The W55 appears to be a base reference point for gear ratios that Toyota used to fine tune later models of the W-series.
Ratios:
First Gear: 3.566:1
Second Gear: 2.056:1
Third Gear: 1.384:1
Fourth Gear: 1.00:1
Fifth Gear: 0.85:1
Reverse: -4.091:1
Applications:
1982-1983 Toyota Carina
1981-1985 Toyota Celica
1983 Toyota Corona
1986 Toyota Soarer
1986 Toyota Crown
1983 Toyota Chaser
1984-1988 Toyota Pickup 2WD with 22RE(EFI) engine
2002-2005 Lexus IS300 (US Market only)

From what I've read, it's been said the w55 wont hold very much power reliably. But I wouldn't know from personal experience.
