Default Check Engine Light, VSC OFF, Code P1121

Hi Everyone

I have a 1999 GS 400 and im having problems my with car. Ive had the car checked with the obd 2 meter at autozone and the code I am getting is P1121 (Accelerator Position Sensor Problem) Every two weeks for the past 3-4 months my car will lose power. Sometimes when I accelerate from a complete stop the car will get up to 45mph and suddenly slow down as if im braking. The check engine light comes on and the VSC off light. Then I will have to press the gas pedal to the floor to get it to go. Also, when this happens I go to put the car in park and the rpm goes up to 2000. Ive read some threads with people that have had this problem and they are saying for me to check the Accelerator Position Sensor or the TPS. I havent read a tread yet that says that their car raises to 2000 rpms when they put it in park. If anyone has had this problem please respond.

i had the same problems. I messed around with the throttle body and didnt set the TPS right. Your TPS is probably on its way out. Did you touch the TPS prior?
