Manually Shifting the Transmition
I have a 1999 GS 300. It of course does not have e-shift. However, I don't think that I would use it anyway. Am I the only one or does everyone manually shift(mostly/downshift) the transition. Also, if others are? !) I have 40,000 miles no probs yet, am I just lucky? 2) I prefer manually shifting to any of the techtronics, etc. like TL s-type, G35, and other. Some feedback please. Thanks...........................

Sorry for such a silly post. Gate Shifting of course. I have a GS 300 - Going to a GS 400. Question though. If you shift form 5 to M , m is actually 4th in th epre-2001 GS300's is M 4th Gear in the GS 400 as well? I though I saw some where that it actuall thifts to 5th for M.

FastEddie (like to shoot pool? ) - unlike going from D to 4th on a non-shift car, shifting from D to 'M' mode on an e-shift car starts off in M-5 - meaning the car can go to any gear up to 5. A lot of times I just start driving the car in M (5) mode, so I can begin using the buttons whenever I like. Another thing I can do is sometimes I want to drop to third and it's easy to just pull back the stick from M to 3rd so I mix up the controls.
